I welcome the Supreme Court’s verdict to give 27 percent reservation to OBCs in the central government run educational institutions. The decision has come at the right time as this is time when new academic year for admissions to various courses will start. I also welcome the decision of excluding the creamy layer from this reservation. India is a country with more number of castes and if the government starts giving reservation for the all the castes then entire educational system will get into a tangle and meritorious students will be deprived from their right to good education.
Any student who has completed his graduation should be excluded from reservation irrespective of the caste he belongs. I believe a graduate will be in a position to get a job and lead his or her family on there own. To make this process more appropriate I urge government to take steps to make sure that those students with good economic back ground should be excluded from the reservation and at the same time economically poor students must be included in the reservation. I hope central government will implement such a provision as early as possible. I urge all political parties to acknowledge the verdict and don’t create unnecessary mess of it.
