You should spend about 20 minutes on this task.
You and your family are living in rented accommodation in an English speaking country. You are not
satisfied with the condition of some of the furniture.
Write a letter to the landlord. In your letter
• introduce yourself
• explain what is wrong with the furniture
• say what action you would like the landlord to take

Dear Mr.John,

This is jagadish, i am one of your tenant in your house addressed sector 44, Sweden. I have been living in the house since couple of years. I met you on few occasions with regard to the rent.

I would like to bring to your notice that i am not happy with the furniture in the house. The Furniture i too old now. It is posing a wornout look with cracks and is in a dilapidated condition. Because of this the interior of the house looks poor. The cracks in the furniture has become home to bugs. Due to this we are unable to keep our cloths in them. The furniture need immediate attention.

Request you to kindly look into the matter, possibly take necessary steps on the rework of furniture. I will be glad if you could consider my request.

Hope to meet you soon on a positive note.

Yours Sincerely,
Jagadish

IELTS - Writing Task 1

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.
Write about the following topic:
Using a computer every day can have more negative than positive effects on your children.
Do you agree or disagree?
Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.
Write at least 250 words.

It is absolutely correct that by everyday use of computers by childrens, it has more negative effects than positive. I agree with the argument.

Stating this i am not against the use of computers. yes they are very essential for the growth of the children at the academic level. they help the children in many ways by providing upto date information on what is happening around the world through internet and also by assisting thme in the preparation of presentation and charts.

But working on computers for a longer period of time affects the eye sight, which inturn leads to headache and other ailments. By seeing compueter screen for a long time will have huge pressure on the neurons of the eye and will weeken them. Thus au a very early age children are forced to wear spects. I have seen my neighbours child who used to spend lot of time before computer playing games. Now his vision became poor and wears spects to compensate the loss. It also affected his studies and resulted in poor academic grades.

I strongly believe that parents should take proper measures on children using computers. They have to educate children to use computers properly. Especially parents need  to see if their children are playing games on the computers, because most childrens get addicted to computer games and it will be very difficult to overcome it. Hence parents should advice them to spend only 2 hrs everyday on computers and rest of the time on outdoor play and studies.

Where The Mind Is Without Fear!! by Rabindranath Tagore

Where the mind is without fear and the head is held high
Where knowledge is free
Where the world has not been broken up into fragments
By narrow domestic walls
Where words come out from the depth of truth
Where tireless striving stretches its arms towards perfection
Where the clear stream of reason has not lost its way
Into the dreary desert sand of dead habit
Where the mind is led forward by thee
Into ever-widening thought and action
Into that heaven of freedom, my Father, let my country awake!!

Dont be serious, be sincere!!

Today i was reading an article, a message delivered by Mr.Chetan bhagat at Symbiosis Institute. He says...

Don't just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful since 'Balanced' means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in that good order. There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

"Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up?

It's ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, fall in love.

We are people, not programmed devices.....

"Don't be serious, be sincere." !

For me this message means a lot. Because i have always tried to be serious thinking that if i enjoy or take career lightly i may not reach the goal i dreamt of. Frankly this did not help me in any way. After 4+ years of career experience i feel i have not achieved anything and still there is lot to do. Unfortunately i lost the time which i was supposed to enjoy, share. I dont want anybody else to do the same.

If anybody is reading this blog, i want them to enjoy life in a reasonable way maintaing balance between joy and career.
