Costly Affair

After the hike in the ticket cost by APSRTC, the life of the common people who mostly depend on RTC buses has hampered a lot. Especially the people below poverty line and those of middle class are facing severe trouble. The minimum fair in ordinary bus is Rs.4 and that of Express is Rs.7. No need to talk about Delux, its shockingly Rs.9. This fair is charged to people who opt to get down one stop away.

Govt. has increased the fair without any prior notice. Nobody was aware of it. The hike was much higher than expected. They should have increased the cost by Rs.1, unfortunately they did it by Rs. 2-3 which is a huge burden on common man.

I believe even the govt did not have enough options to choose. Ongoing Telangana agitation which brought huge losses to APSRTC in a span of 2 months and the strike called by the employees of RTC were the two factors which forced the Govt for a hike in cost.

Many RTC buses suffered a lot of damage during the Telangana agitation. Whom we can blame for all this mess? The policians or a bunch of activists. It's both. Finally the sufferer is the common man. Neither the politican nor the activists are bothered about the hike.

I wish politician and their supporters should understand the misery of the common man. Avoid vote bank politics, respect their posts, and do things which benefit everyone.

I welcome the Supreme Court’s verdict to give 27 percent reservation to OBCs in the central government run educational institutions. The decision has come at the right time as this is time when new academic year for admissions to various courses will start. I also welcome the decision of excluding the creamy layer from this reservation. India is a country with more number of castes and if the government starts giving reservation for the all the castes then entire educational system will get into a tangle and meritorious students will be deprived from their right to good education.
Any student who has completed his graduation should be excluded from reservation irrespective of the caste he belongs. I believe a graduate will be in a position to get a job and lead his or her family on there own. To make this process more appropriate I urge government to take steps to make sure that those students with good economic back ground should be excluded from the reservation and at the same time economically poor students must be included in the reservation. I hope central government will implement such a provision as early as possible. I urge all political parties to acknowledge the verdict and don’t create unnecessary mess of it.

Dont be serious, be sincere!!

Today i was reading an article, a message delivered by Mr.Chetan bhagat at Symbiosis Institute. He says...

Don't just have career or academic goals. Set goals to give you a balanced, successful life. I use the word balanced before successful since 'Balanced' means ensuring your health, relationships, mental peace are all in that good order. There is no point of getting a promotion on the day of your breakup. There is no fun in driving a car if your back hurts. Shopping is not enjoyable if your mind is full of tensions.

"Life is one of those races in nursery school where you have to run with a marble in a spoon kept in your mouth. If the marble falls, there is no point coming first. Same with life, where health and relationships are the marble. Your striving is only worth it if there is harmony in your life. Else, you may achieve the success, but this spark, this feeling of being excited and alive, will start to die.

One thing about nurturing the spark - don't take life seriously. Life is not to be taken seriously, as we are really temporary here. We are like a pre-paid card with limited validity. If we are lucky, we may last another 50 years. And 50 years is just 2,500 weekends. Do we really need to get so worked up?

It's ok, bunk a few classes, goof up a few interviews, take leave from work, fall in love.

We are people, not programmed devices.....

"Don't be serious, be sincere." !

For me this message means a lot. Because i have always tried to be serious thinking that if i enjoy or take career lightly i may not reach the goal i dreamt of. Frankly this did not help me in any way. After 4+ years of career experience i feel i have not achieved anything and still there is lot to do. Unfortunately i lost the time which i was supposed to enjoy, share. I dont want anybody else to do the same.

If anybody is reading this blog, i want them to enjoy life in a reasonable way maintaing balance between joy and career.
